The IAS typically hosts two membership meetings each year, and these are held throughout the state. The regular meeting is scheduled during the period of late March to early May of each year. The annual winner of the Keyes-Orrs award is announced at this meeting. Often, there is also a membership meeting in the autumn. There is a short business meeting held at these events, where the membership votes on IAS matters. These meetings also offer opportunities for members and students to give 15-20 minute presentations on Iowa and regional archaeology and history or their own professional work.
