Recap of IAS Annual Spring Meeting 2022

The IAS’ first in-person meeting in over two years was a big success! We met at Jester Park Nature Center near Granger and combined this meeting with a commemoration for Don Wanatee and David Gradwohl who were two incredibly influential “giants” in Iowa archaeology. Thank you to family and friends of Don and David for coming!

During the morning business meeting, the IAS also voted in a new president and vice president, Sarah Horgen and Kelly Schott. Thank you to Eleisha Barnett and Keith Young for their years of service!

Leah Rodgers (via Zoom) and Nancy Osborn Johnsen were presented with the Keyes-Orr Award in recognition of outstanding service to the IAS and in the research, reporting, and preservation of Iowa’s ancient and historic heritage. A huge congrats to both Leah and Nancy — so well-deserved!
